Welcome to the Arcade Historical Society's Blog

In conjunction with our new website, email address and purchase of  "the old fire hall" we hope this will be the beginning of a new and exciting era for the Society.  On this blog we hope to develop a new forum for communication of news and the discussion of ideas with our members and the community at large.

  1. Hello

My gggrandmother Lucy Lyke built the Lyke Building in Arcade. I believe Gordon Caner had his Sweetshop there. Can anybody give me the address or describe the building if it is still extant?

    Thanks,
    Jim Lyke

  3. Hi Jim Lyke,
I found info on the Lyke Buidling in Arcade. In 1912 it was a millinery shop and in 1976 it was Hyland's shoe store. Address 277 Main St.
